SAFIA is an alternative-pop trio hailing from Canberra, Australia. The three best friends Ben Woolner (vocals/keys), Michael Bell (drums) and Harry Sayers (guitars/keys) have cultivated a loyal following off the back of their unparalleled sound and highly theatrical live show. After breaking out with single ‘Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues’ in 2013, the band has achieved remarkable success with over 200 million global streams, in addition to an incredible 700+ million streams in China with their viral hit ‘Counting Sheep’.

SAFIA's debut album Internal (2016), reached #2 on the Australian album chart and was Gold certified alongside Platinum singles 'Make Them Wheels Roll' and 'Embracing Me' and Gold singles ‘My Love Is Gone’, ‘Over You’ and ‘Together, Locked Safely’. The album helped catapult the band onto the global stage, selling out venues across Australia and club shows throughout UK, Europe and North America, as well as festivals including SXSW, Great Escape and Primavera.

Along the way, they were also handpicked to tour with acclaimed international artists Twenty One Pilots, Lorde, and Disclosure. They also joined forces in collaboration, teaming up with Peking Duk for double-platinum single ‘Take Me Over’ and Alison Wonderland for her break-out single ‘Take It To Reality’.

SAFIA’s sophomore album Story’s Start or End’ (2019), received critical acclaim for its introspective storytelling and saw the band bring the theatrics of their live show to their recorded music. Stand out single 'Starlight' quickly went Gold, and helped the album become the #14 most added at US NACC radio. Fans flocked to sold out theatres across Australia, as well as celebrated festival appearances at Splendour In The Grass, Beyond The Valley, Wildlands and Concrete & Grass (China).

For their first taste of music in 3 years, SAFIA released ‘Falling Down’ in 2022 - an uplifting bittersweet track that dances delicately between being both expansive and intimate, showcasing SAFIA's signature sound. To coincide with the release, they wanted to take it back to where it all began – with 2 x intimate club shows just for the loyal fans. The shows instantly sold out, and gave the band a chance to road-test new material in a captivated setting.

In early 2023 they followed it up with single ‘Today’, which the band describe as being “like a dance tune from a lost ancient civilisation... which might feel familiar on the surface but fall deeper into the space and it taps into an energy much deeper and rawer”.

With the promise of much more new music throughout 2023, fans can expect SAFIA’s return to the big stage with their signature tour-de-force of lights, euphoric sounds and theatrical energy.
